Yes, absolutely.
Spring is the busiest time for real estate as home buyers try to lock down a new property before the Christmas holiday break. But as the season changes from Spring to Summer and we start to see a lot more tinsel on the trees it is commonly thought that it becomes impossible to sell a property.
This is not the case. It is certainly tougher as many take holidays there may be fewer buyers about.
Here are some things to consider:
- Summer desperation – With many home buyers trying and failing to secure a property through Spring with the desire to being in by Christmas, some become desperate in Summer and are less likely to negotiate on price.
- Competition reduces – Many people wishing to sell their home have this mistaken impression that there is no point to advertise during Christmas and therefore take their property off the market. You will be one of the few to remain on the market during this time, with most no coming back on sale until into February.
- Out of rent – The rental market becomes very busy over this period. Many leases are coming to an end and ex-renters are looking to buy, but some are scared away during this period due to the lack of listings. Be there to catch them.
- Time rich – During the Christmas period, most people a time rich. Meaning they are on holidays and have the time to visit homes they have an interest in that they normally wouldn’t be able to get to on the weekend when they are working.
- Attractiveness – Christmas is a great time of year, the first month of Summer provides a bright setting for you to showcase your house. Also, with your house looking its best in Christmas regalia it will look even more inviting.
Christmas can be a fantastic time of year to sell and an incredible opportunity to begin the New Year on a positive note.
